Electropainting has in recent years been developed as an important and economically significant finishing technique for paints. This book deals comprehensively with the historical development and the basic theory of paint deposition as well as with the practical execution of complete surface preparation for electropainting (including the equipment used). Phosphating and chromating in particular are discussed in considerable detail. There is also a thorough account of the paint systems used, the questions of liquid and gaseous waste and of the control of the baths, as well as of the paint films and equipment. The Author has also made a special effort to support statements with as many references as possible from the relevant literature, in order to facilitate further research in this relatively new field. In addition, almost 500 of the most significant patent abstracts are listed according to their classification in three chapters at the end of the book.
